Why now?

Each day, I have the privilege of connecting with individuals from all walks of life in my counseling practice and role as Spiritual Director at The Assisi Institute. There is joy and beauty in our conversations, as well as a rising sense of anxiety and uneasiness—in questions like...

  • How do we nurture peace in ourselves and our families during the upcoming presidential election?

  • How do I handle my "what-if" anxieties?

  • How can my spiritual practices sustain me during this turbulent time?

  • What kind of world will my children and grandchildren grow up in?

  • How could God let so much suffering and corruption happen?

  • How can I vote in good conscience if I don’t support either candidate?

  • What is the role of religious/spiritual communities in this situation?

  • How can I make a difference?

Course Overview

Isha Das, Spiritual Director at The Assisi Institute

What to expect

Peace, Politics, And Power will address the questions above and connect you with a community of individuals who want to be a beacon of light. Our time together will be grounded in the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, Franciscan Spirituality, and sound psychological principles. This experience is not designed to endorse a particular candidate but to provide participants with the necessary tools to navigate issues and situations with wisdom, grace, and hope.

In this spirit, we invite you to participate in a six-month course facilitated by Isha Das. The course begins July 1 and concludes on December 31. Together, we will cultivate peace and empower each other to be a source of healing in our families and the world. It promises to be an inspiring, informative, and empowering experience.

Monthly Focus Areas:

  • July: The big picture: how to invite the highest expressions of truth, beauty, and goodness (God’s love) into our personal and collective histories
  • August: Learning to live from a sense of communion with God when confronting life’s ugliness
  • September: Moving from tribal consciousness to unity consciousness, from fear to the healing power of love.
  • October: Humility, clarity, and the power of truth to set us free.
  • November: Trusting God to work through all circumstances to bring about our highest evolution.
  • December: Living the Divine Life here and now, so that we can be light bearers in a dark world.
